Elementary Education: The Importance of a Family Approach

In this presentation, we will define the characteristics of Laurel Springs School as we began our transformative journey just two years ago when we came to the realization that successfully educating our younger learners must also involve their families. We will explain both the rationale for our change in mindset as well as the data that helped drive our innovative thinking. We will share new processes that have been implemented to create a family-centered approach to learning and then reflect on our successes and challenges. Participants will walk away with tangible strategies to help develop a family-centered program at their school, which will enhance the learning experience of each elementary student.
