Abstract Description : This session examines the use of VR technology in enhancing school counseling, especially for students with ADHD, anxiety, and ASD. The presenter will share real-life experiences from her 2.5 years of VR counseling to illustrate its impact on student well-being.
The session covers VR mindfulness practices and anxiety-reducing coping skills. Next, we'll explore VR social skills coaching, offering safe, repeatable environments that particularly benefit students with ASD and ADHD. Then, we will look at using VR art to identify and express emotion.
By the end, attendees will be equipped with ideas on how VR can revolutionize their counseling practice, paving the way for a more immersive and effective approach to student support.
