K-12 Online Student Exhibitions: How Directed, Independent Learners Experience the “Science Fair” Development to Dissemination

Abstract Description : K-12 organizations and educators will have a unique plan to implement a student exhibition in any curriculum in any school setting.

From the introduction, project collection, data gathering, and dissemination, attendees will develop a strategy for student exhibitions in the organization's environment to meet the unique needs of the student body.

Attendees will participate in (1) brainstorming implementation of student exhibitions in their organization, (2) developing strategies for student differentiation, and (3) a reflective practice experience.

The session provides the opportunity for organizations to (1) increase access and equity for students, (2) increase adult and community involvement, and (3) apply technology as a tool for access.

Learning Objectives:

  • At the end of this session, participants will be able to apply a strategy to introduce, gather, and disseminate a similar exhibition at their organization.
  • At the end of this session, participants will be able to differentiate strategy plans catering to their organization's environment and student body.
  • At the end of this session, participants will have a plan in place to incorporate the entire school and wider community in their exhibition.
