Teacher Leadership: Growing a Positive Culture of Continuous Improvement

Abstract Description : Teacher Leaders are one of the most valuable resources in a school. They can accurately gauge morale of the faculty and staff, are usually the first ones to identify a problem and propose a solution, and can influence the culture of the entire school. This session will offer some surprising outcomes we at Georgia Virtual School found when we changed the traditional norms of interacting and communicating with teacher leaders. Participants will leave with practical suggestions for changing the language and norms used with teacher leadership potentially resulting in improved morale and culture of the entire school.
