Abstract Description : Online learning has a vast amount of obstacles when it comes to getting your students to want to engage. Often times it is hard to get your students to pay attention with all the distractions going on at home or in the online classroom. In my experience I have found that when children feel listened to, respected, cared about, and loved they are excited to come to class each and every day. Some teachers are at a loss in finding strategies to make students feel all of these things. Providing SEL in any classroom can come with its own set of difficulties. In this session you will be presented with strategies and programs you can use during online instruction that will make your students feel part of a loving classroom family.
If someone was doing a search for your session in the program what 5 words might they use to search for and find your session.: SEL in the online classroom
Learning Objectives:
At the end of this session, participants will be able to conduct a daily block of time dedicated to SEL which provides a learning environment where students feel respected, loved, listened to, and cared for.
At the end of the session, participants will be able to utilize online programs and share with their students in real time. These programs will be used for students to share their thoughts and feelings.
