Abstract Description : "Grading for equity" seeks to establish a grading system that allows every student to succeed, regardless of their background. In this session, we will share our journey of implementing equitable grading practices in an online environment while navigating district requirements. We will discuss the challenges we encountered and the implications of these changes for both students and educators.
The session will feature a fishbowl design, encouraging meaningful discussions with participants who are considering these practices or have attempted to implement similar strategies. This will be a knowledge-sharing conversation about what it means to grade for equity online, allowing us to learn from each other's experiences.
Join us as we reflect on our experiences, highlighting both obstacles and breakthroughs. Discover how these innovative approaches enhance learning outcomes and create a supportive, transparent classroom for all learners, while addressing the question, "How can we continue to improve?"
