Abstract Description : Parents play a crucial role in supporting student engagement in online learning. However, online programs often struggle to identify the specific types of support that parents provide or need. Over the past two years, we have surveyed and interviewed parents of online students across Indiana to gain a deeper understanding of their strategies, challenges, and overall involvement. In this presentation, we will share our key findings, detailing how parents support their children, the obstacles they face, and practical recommendations for online programs to better empower and collaborate with parents. Additionally, we will provide a survey instrument specifically designed to measure parental engagement in online learning environments.
