If you selected Cutting-Edge, what innovative ideas, approaches, or methodologies will your session introduce or explore?: We'll be exploring best practices from six, innovative virtual and hybrid models as well as strategies for co-designing research with schools and systems.
Abstract Description : Emergency remote learning during the COVID-19 pandemic is often blamed for “learning loss,” but what if virtual and hybrid learning (VHL) models could actually accelerate student learning? This session explores high-quality, public K-12 VHL models, examining how and why they accelerate learning for different students under diverse conditions. Participants will discover key findings from ongoing research in the field and learn how collaborative research can allow them to better understand what’s working and for whom in their own models.

Learning Objectives:
At the end of this session, participants will understand how virtual and hybrid learning models are accelerating learning for diverse student populations.
At the end of this session, participants will be able to use strategies to co-design research with schools to tell holistic stories about how they are creating change in their contexts.
