This poster session will focus on the exploration of research-based approaches to engaging learners in collaborative online activities. Focus will be placed on approaches supporting student learning through authentic engagement in reading and writing in online courses. Course examples will be provided that focus on increasing understanding of content, making connections, and personal reflection. Visiting participants will be able to discuss approaches to their instruction supporting collaboration in digital spaces. This poster session will support educators with new strategies for engaging students in online spaces, fostering interactive learning, and improving the quality of online course design.

At the end of the session, participants will be able to identify, research-based activities to support collaborative learner engagement in digital spaces.
