This study examines roles in K-12 online learning and their impact on student achievement. Data will be collected at DLAC using surveys, focus groups, and/or interviews with leaders, teachers, and operations staff from online schools. The study seeks to identify best practices for engaging parents, compare strategies across school types, and assess how engagement influences student outcomes, contributing valuable insights for improving virtual education.
Learning Objectives:
Participants will be able to identify key roles in supporting student success in online learning, compare strategies used by online schools to foster engagement and analyze the impact of parental involvement on student achievement in virtual education settings.
Participants will be able to describe effective strategies for enhancing parental engagement in K-12 online learning environments and evaluate how these strategies contribute to improved student outcomes across different virtual school settings.
Participants will be able to engage in conversation with other leaders and staff of K-12 online schools about initiatives currently used to improve student achievement and engagement.
