Description: This session explores AI’s transformative potential in supporting underserved students—those with disabilities, language barriers, or socio-economic challenges—by enhancing individualized learning and fostering engagement. AI tools like natural language processing, adaptive learning platforms, and virtual tutors offer real-time support, personalized content, and predictive insights into student needs. These tools help bridge access gaps, allowing tailored interventions and boosting academic success. Participants will learn best practices for deploying AI responsibly, ensuring data privacy, cultural responsiveness, and complementing human educators to create equitable learning experiences. Learning Objectives:
At the end of the session, participants will be able to identify at least three AI tools that address specific academic challenges for underserved students, such as language barriers or learning disabilities in their own settings as evidenced by a group discussion or written responses.
At the end of the session, participants will be able to outline at least two actionable strategies for implementing AI tools in their educational settings while considering data privacy and equity, demonstrated through a reflective activity or action plan draft.
