Abstract Description : In this presentation, we will explore the innovative processes at the North Dakota Center for Distance Education (NDCDE) for adapting vendor-made curriculum to create customized assessments that align with state standards. By collaborating with subject matter experts, we identify gaps and modify assessments and assignments to ensure they meet educational standards while incorporating real-world learning experiences through project-based assessments. Attendees will gain practical insights into our strategies for fostering authentic learning opportunities that prepare students for real-world challenges, moving towards a competency-based education model.
