It is known that multi-lingual learners face challenges when it comes to producing quality, academic writing that is required of them to exit an ELD program. This session is designed to be a space to share strategies and instructional approaches designed to support all students, particularly those identified as long-term MLL, in engaging in rigorous, academic conversations that strengthen their productive language skills.

Learning Objectives:

  • At the end of this session, participants will be able to use learned strategies for engaging MLL students in academic conversations in their online platforms.
  • At the end of this session, participants will be able to identify the challenges MLL students face in using language in the online environment.
