Heidi Whatley is the Director of Alternative Programs for the City Schools of Decatur. She has served the City Schools of Decatur for 29 years as a teacher, coordinator, and director overseeing special education, gifted education, student services, assessment, accountability, research, student information and alternative programs. She has also worked at the University of Massachusetts, Emory University’s Autism Center, and the University of Georgia. A hallmark of her leadership at Decatur Virtual Academy is finding creative ways to meet a wide variety of student needs.
