Abstract Description :

Calling all elementary online teachers and leaders! This session is part of a community-based set of sessions centered around elementary online learning. In this workshop, Lana and Holly will lead participants through hands-on activities to dive deeper into the topics of connection, engagement, and belonging in the online elementary classroom. Lana and Holly will share strategies, ideas, and templates from their book titled: Elementary Online Learning: Strategies and Designs for Building Virtual Education, Grades K-5. Additionally, they will facilitate discussions and activities that allow practitioners to learn with and from one another.

Learning Objectives:

  • At the end of this session, participants will be able to demonstrate effective strategies for fostering connection, engagement, and a sense of belonging in the online elementary classroom by applying hands-on activities and templates provided in the workshop.
  • At the end of this session, participants will be able to collaborate with peers to share and discuss innovative practices and ideas around elementary online learning and integrate these insights into their own online teaching practices.
